A very little-known secret of General Kung Ming, the military strategist and sorcerer said to have been half-demon (daimon = genius) in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, is that he constructed a three-dimensional pat-kua, extending the lines vertically so that they served as walls, and used that as his magical board to defeat his enemies.
