Saw my granddaughters again, after more than a week, at breakfast time.

They slept all throughout the previous earthquake.

Saturday night Angelique, who is a sophomore at University of Santo Tomas and volunteered to be part of the human barricade for Pope Francis, slept with her classmates in their school building. They had to wake up at 2:00 AM to report for work and be issued special IDs. I am glad that she had that experience, which, I am sure, was quite numinous for her. I recall that, when then-Pope and now-Saint John Paul's motorcade passed EDSA, our family lined up along the highway and waved at him. That was quite a numinous experience for me too, and one that I am bound never to forget.
